CFD Modeling of Fast Chemical Reactions in Turbulent Liquid Flows

摘要

Many industrial processes involving chemical reactions happen in turbulent flow. For fast reactions the reaction rate is limited by the micromixing rate which is controlled by turbulence. Micromixing directly influences the reaction and may lead to changes in both conversion and selectivity. This paper will discuss and present results from various models including the so-called eddy dissipation concept (EDC) and the presumed probability distribution (PDF) models. The simulation results will be compared to experimental data from chemical reactions in liquid systems.
