The aim of Cryo Solid Eropellants (CSP) is to reduce the costs of space transportation. The idea of CSP is to freeze liquid or gaseous fuels and/or oxidizers. It combines the advantages of classical weight saving solid propellants of simple charge design with the energy content of modern liquid propellants. The best thinkable oxidizer is oxygen. Helium is required as cooling medium for solid oxygen. A helium-cryostat was built to freeze oxygen. First test of freezing were made and propellant grains with solid oxygen as oxidizer were produced and burnt down. The handling of solid oxygen as oxidizer was found complex, but possible.
