In order to solve the difficulty of making thin PSA film in printed electronics, through ink-jet printing, the classification of pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) and a part of the application of PSA in the printed electronics is introduced. A series of PSA ink-jet ink are made. The influence of polyacrylate emulsion PSA on ink properties are studied and the optimal PSA content is 20~30%. The influence of different surfactants on ink properties is studied and it is found that sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate (SDBS) can effectively bring down the surface tension without influencing the combination properties of the ink too much. The influence of the SDBS content on ink properties is studied and the ink combination properties are the best when SDBS content is 0.4%. The optimal PSA ink-jet ink formulation is obtained. The ink is printed on the Epson R-230 ink-jet printer on the coated paper and a PSA film with certain initial tack are obtained.
