摘要

This presentation provides an overview and evaluation of federal energy mandates and how they will affect federal facilities and eventually all energy management activities in the United States. Regulations require that 25% of all federal facilities be audited annually, energy conservation measures be identified, those be analyzed, and implemented as appropriate. New energy management requirements affect facilities, transportation, water management, greenhouse gas accounting, and waste management. Most organizations are struggling with how to comply with these regulations and not negatively impact the organizations mission. Organizations whose primary mission is security, research and development, and environmental protection must still comply with the energy management regulations. This presentation provides an overview of the requirements and begins the discussion of the relationship between compliance and organization mission.
