摘要

Remote Ablation Cutting (RAC) with continuous wavernlasers holds a lot of untapped potential for laserrnmaterial processing. High speed cutting for thin metalrnsheets and foils as well as box or tube processingrnwithout inside spatter contamination are only twornbenefits. In order to develop RAC further for anrnindustrial application, gaining of a better understandingrnof the process mechanisms is essential. In this article,rnmain influencing parameters are investigated and arnfirst model to describe the process behaviour isrnpresented. For that purpose different experimentalrnmethods like high speed camera observations andrnlongitudinal cross-sections along the cutting kerf werernadapted to the special requirements of the RAC. Withrnthis article a further step to achieve the goal of arnfundamental understanding of the process shall berncontributed.
