Laser cladding with fiber laser using scanning optics isrna relatively new way of laser cladding. Modernrnoscillating scanners enable laser power adjustmentrnaccording to scanning direction. This is a versatile toolrnfor making process more stable as well as modifyingrnthe shape of clad bead. Laser cladding was made usingrn5kW IPG fiber laser with ILV- oscillating scanner,rnusing 316L powder as clad material and S355 mildrnsteel plate as substrate material. These tests showedrnthat power adjustment is necessary for claddingrnprocess stability when sinusoidal scanning is used.rnPower adjustment can be used also for adjusting therngeometry of clad bead and for constructing simplerngeometries. The oscillating scanner enables flexibilityrnfor controlling the geometry of clad bead and processrnstability compared to the conventional laser claddingrnwith static optics.
