Suppressing Motion of Sandwich Structures Using Antiresonance Frequencies

The method for suppressing vibration of a sandwich structure using thernantiresoance technique is studied. A simple two-degree-of-freedom system isrnintroduced and used to interpret the vibration behavior of the sandwich structure withrnresonators. It is demonstrated that at antiresonance, the whole structure displays arnmotionless behavior. It is also found that with appropriate resonators, the motion duernto slamming impact can be effectively suppressed.
