摘要

Currently there is increasing interest in hydrogen production using nuclear energy. A number of countries are actively exploring the option of nuclear hydrogen production and have established concrete roadmaps for near and far term achievements. Speakers at the IAEA Meeting on Status of Nuclear Hydrogen Production held in Mumbai, India, in October 2009 highlighted some of ongoing R&D activities on nuclear hydrogen production. Programmes of Argentina, India, and Rep. of Korea will be highlighted from the perspective of sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative for these countries. This paper presents a summary of the papers presented. In addition, it highlights in specific the IAEA HEEP software developed mainly for the evaluation of the economic assessment of the hydrogen economy. As wide ranges of pathways are being developed for separating hydrogen from the hydrogen-containing substances using nuclear energy, HEEP could be used for making economic comparison to evaluate various hydrogen-producing technologies.
