MoS_2-alumina catalysts, with various amounts of Mo, were prepared by a sol-gel method using aluminium-tri-sec-butylate (ASB) in 2-butanol and ammonium tetrathiomolybdate (ATTM). After hydrolysis, the dried gels were sulfided and tested in hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of thiophene (T) or dibenzothiophene (DBT). This method f preparation allows to increase the DBT conversion by reference to results obtained on classically sulfided sol-gel oxides.
