This paper is about 45 steel automotive half shaft casing crack's failure, physical and chemical detection and analysis.Test results show that, the crack is full of high temperature oxide, both sides no pair of crack, crack tail round blunt, crack distribution around the serious decarburization layer.Was informed by the characteristics of morphology of crack, the crack belongs to the thermal processing of the folding folding crack, crack is due to improper raw material rolling process.The author proposed the improvement measures are put forward to ensure the rolling process, the qualified rate of raw materials, to further improve the auto parts product quality requirements.
