The idea of evolutionary multi-agent system (EMAS) as an extension of classical evolutionary algorithms is described in the paper. Then an experimental application of EMAS to the problem of time-series prediction is presented. The formal model of such a system is proposed and its possible realisations are discussed. Selected results of simulation experiments conclude the work.
