Spatial variability in soil conditions give rise to local variations in crop yield. Although the lack of spatial uniformity in the factors that influence the growth of field crops and hence their productivity has been known since early times, agricultural practice hardly takes into account these variability in traditional crop production. The recent availability of reliable systems for the on line detection of the absolute position on agricultural machinery during field operation and parallel advances in sensor technology and precision mechanism have led to the concept of site specific. In site specific agriculture, different field operations are controlled by variations in soil conditions, crop growth stage, intensity and spread out of weed and disease infestation and crop yield within each individual field. Infra field variations are captured and registered data are translated into diverse field maps. These maps are the core of site specific crop management that guarantee a more rational use of rawproduces.
