APPLICATION OF WEB TECHNOLOGY FOR METROLOGY AND TRACKING DATA DISTRIBUTION

摘要

Feasibility and advantages of Web technology in the materials R&D industrial environment for data and information management including data acquisition, processing, distribution and work tracking has been examined. The model applications included not only classical data distribution via static pages but also dynamic interactive information exchangencin real-time between metrology instrumentation and database via the Webrnserver. It has been found that Web technology is very suitable for these applications; it offers many advantages such as low installation and maintenance costs, easy integration of multiple data formats (text, graphics, binary files), and necessary flexibility resulting from lack of dependence on the workstation platform or network-type.
