It is expected that diversity methods as attenuation mitigation technology have powerful mitigation performance for future millimeter wave satellite communication system. To evaluate those performances, it is useful to analyze correlation properties between attenuation time series among prepared redundant links. In this paper, I analyzed spatiotemporal correlation of attenuation along satellite-to-earth path or rainfall rate time series obtained in Japan and tropical Asian region such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. These correlation properties are useful for quantitative evaluation of site-diversity, time-diversity, combined-diversity and adaptive power control method. It is observed that in tropical Asian regions rainfall rate time series have shorter correlation time than Japanese ones and we can expect that diversity methods may have good performance in those regions.
