A comprehensive experimental investigation ofrnheat transfer in a two-phase flow past sphericalrnand cylindrical models was carried out in arnshort duration wind tunnel at Mach numberrnМ_∞=6, Reynolds number based on the freestreamrnflow parameters and the model radiusrnRe_(∞,R)= (4 ÷ 500)?10~3, for different gases (N_2,rnCO_2, air), and free-stream particle massrnconcentration c ranging from 1% to 25%.rnParticles of SiO_2, Cr_2O_3, Fe_2O_3, Si_3N_4, and Fe,rnwith a diameter ranging from 0.12 μm to 2.4 μmrnwere used. Use was also made of hollow SiO_2rnspheres with an external diameter of 160 μmrnand wall thickness of ~5 μm.
