The design of the hydraulically powered flightrncontrols, typical high position accuracyrnservomechanisms, involves the deep knowledgernof their behavior, markedly affected by thernCoulomb friction. The proper evaluation of thernfriction forces and torques is usually necessaryrnwhen an accurate simulation of thernservomechanisms dynamic behavior isrnrequested in order to perform a suitable designrnof the system itself. To the purpose, the authorsrnconsider a servomechanism consisting of arnhydraulic motor element (translational orrnrotary) coupled with an electro-hydraulicrnservovalve as a controller; the dynamicrnbehavior of these elements may be stronglyrndependent on the dry friction forces or torquesrnacting on the moving parts, particularly of thernmotor element.
