摘要

Physical experimentation cannot provide the degree of analysis necessary to determine the effects of residual stress on blister testing or distinguish the different modes of failure. Finite element analyses, coupled with fracture mechanics techniques are capable of providing the necessary insight into the mechanisms of failure of adhered thin films to accomplish these tasks.
