Concrete mix designs utilizing hazardous sludge were developed as a sustainable option to land filling of solidified/stabilized product. Sand in concrete mix design Ml 5 was replaced by 20-100% hazardous sludge. Comparisons were drawn between solidified/stabilized and concrete mix designs with similar waste to cement ratio. Unconfined compressive strength and diffusion leaching test for building material was used to evaluate performance of altered mix design. Decrease in compressive strength indicated effect of increasing waste content in the mix design. Environmental safety was tested by leach test. Heavy metals leaching were within permissible limits for building materials. Developed mix designs can be used for different load applications.
