With increasing industrialization and increase ofrnworld population, global carbon budget holds utmost importancernin determining the overall condition of our mother earth.rnIn an effort to decrease the increasing carbon content in ourrnatmosphere, various NGOs, governments and private enterprisesrnare involved in plantations of exquisite species of trees,rnsuch as Eucalyptus Globulus, which can absorb carbon at arnmuch faster rate than usual trees and can also contribute tornvarious production industries upon maturity. Estimating therncarbon stock in these plantations, thus, gives us an accuraternidea on how much they are contributing towards the reductionrnof this global problem and help us determine the ecoeconomicalrnstatus of the same.rnIn this study, a methodology is proposed, to estimate the carbonrnstock in a Eucalyptus Globulus plantation in Chile by integratingrnremote-sensing with a simple pro cess-based model.
