The importance of bioenergy in the future energy supply was shown in many studies. The agriculturalrnproduction of energy crops is in competition to food production and discussed controversial. Therefore the academicrnand commercial research is focused on waste or residue biomass. A promising conversion technology for thernproduction of liquid fuels from residue biomass is a combination of intermediate pyrolysis with integrated reforming,rnthe Thermo-catalytic reforming (TCR®). For this work bio-oil from digestate was produced by Thermo-catalyticrnreforming (TCR®). The bio-oil was hydrogenated at temperatures of 230 ℃ to 370℃ and a pressure of 14 MPa. Forrnhydrogenation an industrial NiMo-Al2O3 catalyst was used. The high quality of products form Thermo-catalyticrnreforming was already presented at EU BC&E 2014. Upgrading of the TCR® bio-oil offers the option to meet highrnstandards of common fuels.
