PROCESS CONTROL WITH RHEOLOGICAL METHODS

Quality control of rubberbased adhesives requires, in addition to a simple identity check, also more detailed analyses like proof of homogeneity or quantitative composition. Conventional test methods such as determination of K-value, peel adhesion or holding power are useful tools to detect individual changes of the properties of pressure sensitive adhesives. Nevertheless such conventional test procedures are outclassed in many points by rheological analysis methods. These methods enable the user to detect a variety of property changes during one single rheological analysis.
