Researchers charged with the task of obtaining financial and economic information on foreign companies and the countries in which they conduct business often face a daunting task. The subject company may be a well-known conglomerate doing business in several countries, including the U.S., or a thinly traded public company in an emerging market. This paper covers Internet-based resources that provide financial and economic information on foreign companies and their native countries. The differences in content and quality of information in search engines, Meta pages, and subject-specific sites will be analyzed and evaluated. Resources utilized in completing research requests from actual queries will be provided to illustrate the availability of valuable resources on the Internet.
