摘要

Railway vehicle system is analyzed considering ten and six degree of freedom systems. Fourth order Runge -Kutta method is used for the analysis. For lower speeds, periodic motion is observed while at higher speeds, chaotic motion is observed. The results indicate that the first critical speed occurs at 32.2 m/s. and second at 47.3 m/s for ten degrees of freedom system. The supercritical bifurcations for six degrees of freedom system occur at are 34.4 m/s and 52m/s. It is found that both the systems (six and ten degrees of freedom) behave qualitatively the same.
