Since environment protection and energy conservation are growing concerns, the development of clean electricrnvehicles (CEV) has taken on an accelerated pace worldwide. The market of CEV is becoming commerciallyrnvaluable and attractive to customers. This paper presents an approach for the configuration of new CEV refuelingrnstations with respect to both the economy and the social benefit. From our detailed survey of target markets, thernimportant requirements for the station are reviewed and discussed. On the basis of the survey, the GeneticrnAlgorithm (GA) is applied for the optimal arrangement of refueling stations in case of Musashino-city and whole ofrnTokyo, Japan.
