In this document the prospects and opportunities for gas-fired air conditioning in Europe are analysed. Tornthis end, the current market situation is reviewed, and compared with the data for the USA and Japan.rnParticular attention is devoted to the technologies and appliances available in Europe and their typicalrnperformance levels, along with associated economic factors such as investment costs and energy pricesrnacross the various countries. A progress report is also included on the current state of the new airrnconditioning products and concepts now being developed.rnLastly, gas-fired air conditioning is presented as one of the tools available to electricity companies, in therncontext of their broader DSM strategy, to prevent their system capacity being over-saturated by thernproliferation of air conditioning systems, wich is already limiting capacity of supply in a number ofrncountries.
