Sewer Inspection Standardisation Coming CEN-standard and the Nordic National Annex

In many of the European countries there exist sewer CCTV-inspection manuals. The British and some otherrnmanuals are concentrated on the characterisation and quantification of the defects found in the sewers. ThernScandinavian countries have had a more practical approach and the classification or assessment part of thernprocess is included in the manuals. To unify the visual sewer inspection in Europe a common coding systemrnstandard has been under preparation and is soon waited to be accepted and taken in use. The new standardrn‘Establishing the Condition of Drain and Sewer Systems Outside Buildings – Part 2 Visual Inspection CodingrnSystem’ will follow basically the British approach but the Scandinavian manner and any other nationalrnmanner may be added as National Annex to the standard. In this way the sewer inspection in Europeanrncountries will be carried out in a uniform format in the future.
