EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON ELASTIC RESPONSE AND MOORING FORCES OF VERY LARGE FLOATING STRUCTURES MOORED INSIDE REEF

摘要

This paper describes the results of hydraulic model tests on elastic response and mooring force of a very large floating structures moored inside a reef in an isolated island. The distribution of strains and vertical displacements due to the elastic response of a very large floating structure are measured in hydraulic model tests. Mooring forces are also measured in non-linear wave conditions inside the reef. It is concluded that the characteristics of response are affected very much by deformed non-linear waves inside the reef. The difference of wave height with and without a floating structure inside the reef is also examined.
