The development of miniaturized analytical systems has gained considerable momentum in the last few years. Planar micro-optics and solid state light sources have a great potential for reducing the size and simplifying the architecture of analytical systems~1. Our investigation is focused on microlens arrays for muTAS. Arrays of refractive microlenses (2 mum to 5 mm lens diameter) have been fabricated by melting resist technology and replicated in polycarbonate and PMMA by embossing and casting techniques. Microlens arays have been itnegrated into miniaturized analytical systems.
