In view of the fact that China has a vast territory and uneven energy distribution, the use of half-wavelength transmission as a long-distance large-capacity power transmission method has received increasing attention. Different from conventional transmission lines, half-wavelength AC transmission lines have long transmission distances, high voltage levels, large transmission power, and special circuit structure, which have their own unique characteristics in many aspects. One of the problems that hinder the development of the half-wavelength technology is that huge submersible current and recovery voltage in the single-phase reclosing process of the line lead to the difficulty of self-extinguishing the submersible arc. In this paper, EMTP/PSCAD software is used to construct the simulation model of single-phase fault and reclosing process for half-wave transmission lines, and the statistics of the latent current and complex voltage amplitude along the line are calculated. The effects of transposition mode, arc resistance, transmission power on the submersible current and recovery voltage were studied, and the arc extinguishing measures for the semi-wavelength line submarine arc were discussed.
