Combined cycle power plants are widespread power installations. They have become popular due to high efficiency, low costs and low emissions level. These power installations have some features, which differ from traditional steam power installations. One of these features is the permissible power reduction when the frequency decreases. This fact can lead to dangerous consequences especially under islanding, when there are no other generation reserves. In some cases, it can result in frequency collapse. This paper is devoted to control algorithm which can help to prevent such emergency. The frequency can be supported at the first seconds of emergency by means of power boosting. Consequently, such measure helps to prevent frequency collapse. The paper includes the structure of proposed power boosting block and the example of block parameters choosing.
