摘要

Operation of metallized film capacitors in high current overload mode was experimentally studied. Changes in frequency spectra of capacitance and dissipation factor were revealed. It was found that effective capacitance rapidly decreases in the high frequency region (more than 1 kKz). The dissipation factor monotonic increasing and appearance of peaks in its frequency dependence were also found. Numerical modeling results showed that changing in frequency dependencies of capacitance and dissipation factor is due to contact edges degradation and following non-uniform distribution of electric potential in the vicinity of capacitor’s electrodes.
