A Low Mutual Coupling Design for Array Microstrip Antennas Integrated with Mushroom-Like Fishnet (EBG) Structures

摘要

Improvement and development to decrease the mutual coupling between antenna array elements it has become a primary concern for researchers hot topics and telecommunication industries. Because of the unique electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) metamaterials structures properties, it has become one of the promising methods in designing the printed antenna geometries serving the way to surface wave excitation reduction and overcome the mutual coupling problem. A novel as periodic array is proposed and studied, the Bandgap features presented in the dispersion diagram X-Band regime operated, the antenna structure design analyzed by Computer Simulator Technology Microwaves 2016. The simulating results shows the mushroom-like fishnet EBG that used exhibit a good improvement in reducing the mutual coupling at desired regime between radiator elements led to increases antenna gain and directivity.
