The compact mode converters on double-ridged waveguide with stepped-irregular ridges

The results of synthesis of mode waveguide converters (MWC) on double-ridged waveguides with stepped-irregular ridges are presented. The parameters of multimodal scattering matrix for mode conversion in double-ridged waveguide are calculated. It is used the electromagnetic fields and the cutoff wavenumbers of double-ridged waveguide, which are determined using the method of partial regions including field singularity at the edge, for calculation. The mode conversion on transverse junctions of double-ridged waveguide for different waveguide section arrangement is considered. The steps of synthesis and the rules of mode selection for modes involved in conversion are described.
