This paper proposes a novel reconfigurable antenna based on meta-surface with dual-frequency multi-pattern function, which can both operate at 2.4 GHz with omnidirectional radiation pattern and work at 5.63 GHz with directional radiation pattern. The meta-surface can change its structure simply by switching the PIN diodes loaded on it. The designs were featured through the software simulation and prototype verification. The analysis and measurement results reveal that omnidirectional gains vary from 8 dB to 9 dB and from 6 dB to 10.31 dB for the operation band 2.4 GHz [2.35 GHz-2.44 GHz] and 5.63 GHz [5.6 GHz-5.65 GHz], respectively.
