A RoF link is created using a 10 Gbps 850nm laser diode (LD) and 10 Gbps 850 nm photodiode (PD). By carefully selecting the LD and PD, a broadband data transmission of ~3 GHz can be possibly achieved, measured by the Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). Finally, to validate the link can be performed up to 3GHz bandwidth, the modulated data of QPSK, 8PSK and QAM modulation at 600MHz, 1.5 GHz and 3GHz carrier frequencies from the output port of first Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) have been generated and transmitted over the RoF link to the input port of the second USRP to measure the link performance such as Bit-Error-Rate (BER) vs Signal to Noise ratio (S/N) including the noise figure calcualtion of the link.
