摘要

In this paper an adjustable window function is proposed which is based on cotangent & which can be used to design an FIR filter. The window function consists of a variables & using this variables the shape of the window can be regulated. The proposed window is compared with Hamming, Hanning, Kaiser & Blackman window. The result implies that the ripple ratio of the proposed window is -50.59 dB where Hamming, Hanning & Kaiser windows have -46.89 dB, -31.48 dB & -13.33 dB respectively, where it can be understood that the proposed window has injcreasingly better ripple ratio among the windows mentioned above. Besides, filter designed using the proposed window has -64.92 dB ripple ratio while hamming, hanning & kaiser based window filters have -53.76 dB, -43.96 dB & -21.94 dB accordingly, where, the proposed window has the better response.
