This paper proposes composed right/left handed transmission lines (CRLH-TL) consisting of arbitrarily-shaped conductor elements, which are designed by a genetic algorithm (GA). When the right/left handed transmission lines are constructed by these elements, the impedance mismatching between the input/output lines and CRLH-TL often causes deterioration of the transmission characteristics. So we consider the Bloch impedance of CRLT-TL, and construct the matching circuit. Design examples are demonstrated, and its effectiveness is verified numerically and experimentally.
