摘要

The electric power system is moving rapidly towards an increased penetration of renewable energy resources. The new power to gas (PtG) technology has been recently introduced as a means to prevent renewable generation curtailment and to store any excess of renewable energy production during off-peak periods. This paper proposes a methodology for simultaneously studying the combined system flow of both power and gas distribution networks. An integrated grid comprising a 33-bus power gird and a small gas grid has been presented for testing the proposed methodology. The connection between the power grid and the gas grid is made through buses where PtG or GPG (gas-fired power generation) stations are located. Simulation results performed on Matlab are also presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.
