Anhydride-curing of epoxy systems and application for electrical insulation has a history of 70 years [1]. For large generators and motors the most widely applied insulation system are mica-based insulation tapes that are impregnated with a mixture of Bisphenol-A-diglycidylether-type epoxy resins and methyl hexahydrophthalic anhydride (MHHPA).
