With the emergence of cloud computing and the advances in virtualization technologies, our systems are increasingly shifting into a distributed deployment model within software defined clusters. Consistency protocols are employed to manage the distributed system state across the cluster. Such protocols are typically leader-based, where the leader can become a bottleneck that slows down the cluster and constitutes a single point of failure until the election of a new leader. In this paper, we overcome these limitations by proposing a simple leaderless consistency protocol. We demonstrate the efficiency of our protocol by benchmarking it against two de-facto open source implementations of existing consistency protocols.
