摘要

Dynamic stability enhancement via tuning of Power System Stabilizer (PSS) and optimal placement of STATCOM is methodically analyzed in this paper. The performance study of PSS with STATCOM is executed in Western Science Coordinated Council (WSCC) 9 bus system for the enhancement of dynamic stability via Power System Analysis tool box (PSAT). To damp out rotor angle oscillation, auxiliary controller is used in the system. The power system stabilizer is one of the auxiliary controllers. The performance of PSS with STATCOM is implemented through the nonlinear time-domain simulation. The results are compared with the Firefly Algorithm based tuned PSS in the 9-bus system.
