摘要

Collaboration with the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and the University of Cyprus (UCY) has allowed development of an experiment in a distribution substation. Temperature condition monitoring units were installed on selected underground cable joints within MV sub-station in Cyprus. Real-time current loading data, weather conditions as well as surface temperature by the cable joints are used for the development of the thermal prognostic models. This paper introduces a novel thermal condition monitoring system and presents the first preliminary results.
