This paper presents the comparison of two different CFL models under distorted voltage supply conditions and its performance in the description of the input current waveforms: 1) A classical Harmonic-Current-Source Model and 2) An analytical Circuit-Based Model developed for sinusoidal conditions in previous works and implemented in this paper for distorted waveforms. The results from each model are compared via: simulation tools (MATLAB® and ATP-EMTP®), laboratory measurements and performance metrics. The study focuses in the results for two typical distorted source voltages, and thus analyzes the phenomena of attenuation, diversity and load aggregation. These phenomena are considered here in order to support, in future studies about, their impact on power quality indices for low voltage residential distribution systems. The study demonstrates that the Circuit-Based Model has an efficient performance on the description of the input current waveform against changes in voltage supply, than the Harmonic-Current-Source model.
