The forward-backward asymmetry of the Drell-Yan process at the LHC at 7 TeV is investigated. It is found that in some kinematical areas the 1“2σ deviations of the CMS results from the Standard model predictions are observed. These deviations are treated in terms of Z' boson. In the model-independent approach, the Z' vector and axial-vector couplings to the Standard model fermions are estimated at the mass m = 3 TeV and 3,5 TeV and Γ / m = 0,1. It is shown that at 1σ level Z' boson signal can be clearly distinguished from the CMS data. It is observed also that this result does not depend strongly on the Z' mass.
