Carrier suppression for an optical tunable two-tone generator ranging up to 40 GHz with a compact and high speed phase modulator

We report a carrier suppression method with a 60-ns response phase modulator for a two-tone lightwave generator. A frequency measurement system with 40-dB extinction ratio signals was built, providing measurement ranges up to 40 GHz.
