For multi-mode multi-band communication, reconfigurable transceiver system is introduced. The proposed transceiver system consists of MIMO antenna, reconfigurable RFIC, switchable front-end module including FBAR filter, LTCC filter and MEMS switch for channel selection. Parasitic coupler structure is used to reduce coupling effect by leakage current between adjacent antennas which are spaced less than 0.5 λ. It shows 2:1 VSWR and its correlation coefficient is lower than −15 dB. Reconfigurable RFIC for 2∼6 GHz wideband signal transmission is designed and fabricated by 130 nm CMOS process. FBAR filter based on AlN piezoelectric medium is described in ladder topology with seven resonators. Its insertion loss is 1.9 dB and attenuation is 27dB. LTCC filter which has Combline band pass structure has also developed. Its insertion loss is 2.0 dB and attenuation at 1.9 GHz is larger than 38 dB. The proposed RF devices can be implemented for wideband reconfigurable multi-mode multi-band applications.
