摘要

The flexural properties of bisphenol-A reinforced woven roving carbon/glass fibers hybrid composites was studied. The composites were manufactured using a hand lay-up process. The variables in this research were the replacement of glass fibers with carbon fibers on both upper and lower sides symmetrically. These specimens were tested using four point bending method in accordance with ASTM D6272. The failure modes were observed using an optical microscope and SEM. The result showed that the bending strength and modulus increased with the increasing of carbon fibers. The highest flexural strength is achieved when reinforcement fiber of the specimens consist 90% carbon fibers. The failure modes were dominated by combination of compressive failure and delamination.
