A novel 229-GHz lens antenna, based on dielectric cone-shape Fresnel zone (FZ) lens of flat dielectric rings, is studied and contrasted to the same-size FZ plate and plane-convex lens. For similar radiation parameters the conical CFZ lens/antenna is much lighter and has significant structural and technological advantages.
