摘要

A mathematical model of induction heating was established, the billet temperature was calculated with this model. The factors that influence temperature distribution and its variety were discussed. It was found that convection heat transfer between billet and air could lead to radial temperature non-uniform. If holding time over a critical time, then billet radial temperature difference would be aggravated. The effect of billet initial temperature distribution on the heating time was also studied in this article. The Index of Temperature Uniformity (ITU) was proposed, and it was analyzed at different parameters, the measures that helpful for billet temperature uniformity were proposed.
