In this paper the performance of three global peak power point tracking techniques are evaluated for grid-connected PV system operating under partially shaded conditions. The methods used for comparative study are (i) Perturb & observe (P&O) (ii) Incremental conductance (INC) and (iii) Fuzzy logic based. The comparison of performance is based on the study of simulation results obtained using MATLAB/SIMULINK. It is shown through the simulation study that the accurate tracking of peak power point under partially shaded condition increases the power extracted from the PV system. The simulation study reveals the superiority of the fuzzy logic based approach.
